Why was my debit or credit card declined? Paypal
A payment may be declined for several reasons. If your payment was declined, you may need to:
1. Contact your bank or credit card company. The card issuer sees a charge that doesn’t fit your normal spending patterns and blocks the transaction to protect you. Your bank may flag any unexpected activity on your account. This includes first-time orders and high-value purchases, regardless of the amount of funds available or credit limit. Your bank may require your verbal authorization to proceed with a transaction.
2. Change the payment method and try again, for example if you have tried to pay with Stripe you could try again with Paypal or vice versa. Please note that you don't need a Paypal/Stripe account to pay, you can pay directly with your card by clicking Paypal/Stripe option and enter your card details there. In general Paypal accepts more card types comparing to Stripe.
Verify that you entered your payment information correctly during your order.
3. To protect your privacy, your card issuer or bank doesn't tell PayPal why your card was declined. If you’re still unable to make a payment, please contact us
